Thickness only has meaning with construction: a 120 um PE film and a 120 um PE/foil laminate are different articles. Tensile strength and elongation can support grade comparison but do not determine the tariff heading. A tracer wire and tape construction also requires wire material, diameter, and layout to be documented.

Adhesive status, lamination, printing, metallic content, and finished form can matter more than mechanical values. National tariff schedules may extend the six-digit HS base, so verify the final code for the importing country.

Where Use Context Changes the Evidence

For buried non-adhesive tape, peel data is usually irrelevant. For self-adhesive variants, surface and coating condition, application pressure, dwell time, temperature, humidity, and storage may affect measured adhesion, so test the intended surface when adhesion data is required.
